Calling All Ads: Apptera Joins With eBay

Apptera, the former speech recognition company, has announced its launch of voice ads that are matched up to eBay’s mobile auction notices. The ads will be placed by Apptera using an ad exchange.

The company has created a service that allows marketers to implement relevant ads during the phone calls eBay users receive during the last three minutes of their auction. Ads will work in conjunction with the firm Unwired Buyer who is responsible for the approximate 1 million calls per month to eBay users.

  • Mobile. Smart devices have become standard, and advertising is only going to become more creative there.
  • Online video. It's a real competitor to TV now, and it presents really interesting ways to engage viewers.
  • Social media. The new Facebook timeline and the surge of Google+ have cracked the game wide open again.
  • Tempting as it might be, I don't want to get too involved in one aspect.
  • See, I think this might be a good time to see what would happen if we revisited MySpace, but made the ads slightly bigger... with more strobe effect.
