AdSense Ropes In Family Guy

kangaroo.jpgGoogle Inc. announced that two new stars will be added to the AdSense network. Seth MacFarlane, animator of TV’s “Family Guy” and Raven-Symone, star of the popular Disney Channel show “That’s So Raven,” will create shorts to be distributed across the AdSense network.

Media Rights Capital is supporting the two projects which were signed for a $10 million price tag.

MacFarlane is reported to have signed on for 50 shorts featuring new characters, and Symone will be creating “how-to” clips in the tradition of Martha Stewart.

This deal is unique due to the packaging of the clips with banner ads and video ad that will run before or after the program. Web sites served by AdSense will have the videos distributed to them, similar to the deal inked last year with MTV Networks, according to a press release.

The search giant and Media Rights Capital will refine a way to target sites that match the content. Asif Satchu, co-chief executive of Media Rights Capital said, “We feel this partnership answers the question of how best to reach viewers online, because the Web is fragmented into millions of viewing destinations.”

Google now has contextual advertising embedded in Google Image Search results – each page has two horizontal sponsored link sections. See screen capture below.

The other popular Google properties that are yet to be monetized include Google News and Google Blog Search.

I found an example of an adsense video at http://www.monetizationweekly.com It had the adsense ad embedded 15sec. into the video. Check it out! It’s endless what they’ll come up with these days.
