Digg Strikes Gold With Microsoft

gambling1.jpgAn announcement was made yesterday by Microsoft that the company will become the exclusive provider for contextual and display advertising on Digg.

Digg serves over 17 million unique users monthly. The site functions as a user-generated news recommendation service. There is a three year deal between the companies that will allow them both to work together on upcoming advertising and technology initiatives.

This effort will grow Microsoft’s reach in the online advertising market which may help keep them on the heels of their major competitor Google.

There were no details given for the switch as Digg previously used AdWords for its ad serving.
