CA Gets It For Free From Apptera’s MobileAds
Today Apptera announced that its MobileAd Technology will power the ad serving capability within the expansion of AT&T’s new ad-sponsored directory assistance service. AT&T has been doing controlled trials of the service in three cities and has now extended the testing, making the service available to the entire state of California.
MobileAd Technology will provide the ad management and targeting component of the overall solution provided by VoltDelta, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Volt Information Sciences, Inc. Apptera will continue to serve targeted ads to VoltDelta’s platform, which is available to landline or mobile callers when they dial 1-800-YellowPages.
1-800-YellowPages gives AT&T the ability to offer all 36million people in the state of California another option regardless of who their phone carrier is at present. This free service allows consumers to get the same directory information in exchange for listening to short audio ads pertinent to their search.
Rich Oldach, executive vice president of Volt Delta Resources, LLC stated, “Apptera’s MobileAd Technology is a positive enhancement to the Directory Assistance platform that we built for AT&T’s 1-800-YellowPages service. Integrating targeted advertisements into phone-based services offers another key tool that our customers such as AT&T can use to customize their service offerings and drive new sources of value to their consumers.”
Marketta Silvera, CEO of Apptera said, “By integrating our MobileAd Technology into the VoltDelta platform, AT&T is able to monetize free 411 calls with relevant ads. Consumers get their information for free, and advertisers get to promote their products and services at the exact time a caller is searching for a similar business.”
