USNews.com Joins With Clinicahealth To Offer Online Health And Wellness Communities
U.S.News & World Report announced today that USNews.com and ClinicaHealth have launched a series of online health and wellness communities at the U.S. News website (www.usnews.com/community) entitled U.S. News “Health Community.”These new health and wellness communities, offered in 31 topic areas, enable USNews.com visitors to connect in a safe and secure environment with fellow patients and caregivers living with a particular disease or condition. The communities allow visitors to benefit from advice and insights of others, post questions, and create online journals. In addition, members can access content already created by the U.S. News editorial staff. Membership is free, but requires registration.
The health communities complement the wealth of medical information now available at USNews.com on more than 70 disease and conditions. That information is provided by renowned institutions such as The Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins Medicine, the Joslin Diabetes Center, the Mayo Clinic, MD Anderson Cancer Center, National Jewish Medical and Research Center, and Stanford University Hospital and Clinic.“ClinicaHealth is excited to be working with U.S. News to connect people living with health issues with others who are going through similar experiences,” said David Greene, president of ClinicaHealth. “We believe that the information and emotional support that patients and family members can get from one another in the context of an online social network is a powerful complement to the expert editorial information that U.S. News provides so well.”
“U.S. News’s collaboration with ClinicaHealth provides consumers with the added support that comes from interaction within communities of shared concerns,” said Brian Kelly, editor of U.S.News & World Report. “It underscores U.S. News’s commitment to being the most comprehensive source available for vital health care information, whenever it’s needed.” USNews.com’s health section now includes the following additional components, all offered free of charge to consumers:
