Microsoft Wagers $1 Billion in 24/7 Real Media Biding War

According to a report in the NY Post, Microsoft has considered offering $1 billion to acquire 24/7 Real Media.

The bid could put Microsoft over the top in a field that includes WPP Group.

The pressure on Microsoft to buy an internet ad firm has increased since Google captured DoubleClick for $3.1 billion and Yahoo! bought Right Media for $680 million.

It is obvious the “big three” of the internet have their focus on successful ad firms. Speculations have also surfaced that Microsoft is interested in aQantive.

Reader Comments.

Why would MSFT waste a billion on this company? They gain nothing by buying 24/7 – Aquantive maybe but not 24/7 !!!
