Communications conglomerate Comcast is currently courting bids from the big four online ad providers–AOL, Microsoft, Google and Yahoo–to provide advertising and search services for its Comcast.net Internet service. Comcast currently uses Google-powered ads, but the three-year contract between the two companies ends at the end of this year, putting Comcast’s 17 million unique visitors up for grabs.

Comcast wants to seal a two-year contract for search services on Comcast.net, according to Reuters. Under the current contract, Google is expected to pay Comcast about $70 million this year, but that could increase to $100 million. Comcast also wants to monetize its web page, which includes a large amount of newly minted video clips. The company expects to make several hundred million in ad revenue from the site over a three-year period.

Comcast has been trying to drive traffic to its website from its pool of cable TV and telephone subscribers, and will be using it to post TV schedules and a digital voicemail service.

The company Comcast chooses will monetize all of Comcast’s sites including the company’s new Ziddio video sharing site.
