3rd Dimension Launches Ad-Supported, Tri-State Mobile Traffic Service
New York-based mobile marketing firm 3rd Dimension Inc today announced the launch of a new traffic advisory service for mobile devices. Now, drivers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut will be able to view real-time news regarding traffic tie-ups on cell phones with the free service, which is available to anyone with a data-enabled phone or for BlackBerry, Palm Treo and Windows Mobile smart phone customers.
Users can receive information on traffic from over 450 real-time traffic cameras along major crossings in the tri-state area, with cameras spanning across New Haven, Connecticut to Southern New Jersey and New York City’s five boroughs.
By calling 877-880-ROAD or through visiting wcbs880.com or www.freetrafficcam.com, customers can download the service and also navigate real-time video images of a selected traffic area. BMW has signed on as the premier advertiser for the 3rd Dimension service, with users being delivered the German automaker’s ads while traffic images are uploading.
In a statement, Bruce Laskin, COO of 3rd Dimension, said, “Mobile devices have become the most personal means of communication. People literally don’t leave their homes without them. All of our planned applications will deliver highly relevant, live video content to targeted audiences for free or via subscription, making it a very attractive medium for the advertising community, while remaining very appealing to the consumer.”
