Yahoo, Digitas Go “Underground” for Pontiac Campaign
As of today, Pontiac owners and enthusiasts will now have a hub all their own with the new online destination, Pontiac Underground. Both Pontiac and Yahoo have teamed up for the launch of this new website, with the online media stalwart providing social content for the Pontiac website, which includes Flickr photos, Yaho! Answers, Yahoo! Video, and Yahoo! Groups.
Designed in conjunction with Digitas, the Pontiac website specializes in interactive and user-created content, whereby users can keep up with the latest happenings of the Pontiac brand through videos and photos, news & information, Pontiac information sharing, logging and making connections.
Pontiac Marketing Director Mark-Hans Richer said in a statement, “With Yahoo!’s leading social media platform, it’s exciting to finally be able to bring our GTO fans, G6 fans, Solstice fans, old Firebird or Chief fans, Vibe fans — ALL Pontiac online communities together. Pontiac Underground is almost all consumer-generated - it’s their community, we’re just trying to add to it.”
“As a pioneer in social media, Yahoo! is always looking for ways to connect people to their passions,” added Jennifer Dulski, vice president and general manager, Yahoo! Autos. Dulski continued by saying the launch “delivers on a largely untapped opportunity for brands to use social media tools to engage in conversation with consumers in an authentic and appropriate way.”
