Voxant Adds AP to Viral Syndication Network
Viral syndication network Voxant today announced an agreement with AP Digital, a division of the Associated Press, to give websites and blogs access and redistribution rights to a large selection of AP news, videos, articles and photos.
In a press statement, Jane Seagrave, VP and director of AP Digital, says, “The ‘long tail’ of the Web has become a cliché, but Voxant really does offer a convenient way to reach the millions of people who are only interested in a fraction of AP’s content. Voxant provides a vehicle for AP to allow non-traditional customers to post individual stories, photos and video clips while maintaining control over its intellectual property.”
Content can be obtained from TheNewsRoom and redistributed through Voxant’s own embedding news process called “viral mashing”, where news content and advertising are embedded on an endless number of sites. Web publishers can utilize Voxant’s ad-supported network for free.
Voxant CEO Jeff Crigler added, “The importance of having Associated Press content for TheNewsRoom cannot be overstated. The AP is one of the world’s premiere news-gathering organizations and its content provides a rich resource for Web publishers and bloggers who join the Viral Syndication Network.”
Voxant today also announced a similar syndication deal with McClatchy-Tribune Information Services.
