PC World Editor Slain in Drug-Related Attack

Rex Farrance, a senior editor for PC World Magazine, was killed by a gunshot wound to the chest after a home invasion yesterday evening.

According to police, four attackers entered Farrance’s home, shot him, and pistol-whipped his wife, Lenore Vantosh-Farrance, who called 911. The attackers fled before police arrived.

Police inspector John Conaty believes that Farrance and his wife could have been involved in the sale of illegal drugs. “We have substantial reason to believe that the victim and his wife were involved in the possession and, potentially, the distribution of illegal narcotics,” he told the Associated Press.

Farrance’s son Sterling disputes that assertion, saying he grew and stored medical marijuana at home with his parents’ permission.
