WebTrends Acquires ClickShift
ClickShift has a new home as of today. The online ad optimization firm announced on the opening day of SES Chicago that it has been acquired by web analytics and performance management consultant WebTrends, Inc.
With the acquisition, ClickShift will transfer its technology and industry savvy over to WebTrends, with ClickShift employees joining the company including co-founders and MIT alum, John Rodkin and Leo Chang. Rodkin and Chang, who previously founded Flyswat, which was eventually purchased by NBCi, will continue to lead the ClickShift crew out of its current San Bruno, Calif. office.
“From day one, our vision has been to revolutionize the way marketers manage and profitably grow their complex online marketing campaigns,” said CEO Rodkin in a statement. “WebTrends is the ideal partner for our revolutionary solution as its Marketing Performance Management strategy perfectly matches our mission. WebTrends has the resources, experience and expansive customer base to introduce more marketers to the power of true marketing optimization.”
WebTrends will now also enhance its WebTrends Marketing Lab with the addition of WebTrends Dynamic Search. The company plans to unveil the new solution to online marketers, industry tastemakers and media folks at invite-only events in New York City on December 11th and in London on December 14th.
Financial terms of the ClickShift deal were not disclosed.
