Providing video search engine results, blinkx has now added business and financial news, interviews and a wealth of information produced by Dow Jones Online. The video and search information is available for free.
Based in San Francisco, blinkx.tv currently holds over 6,000,000 hours of audio, video, viral and TV content, which is available on demand while Dow Jones Online maintains its title as the largest paid subscription site online.
“We are excited to partner with Dow Jones Online and bring their quality content to millions of our users who come to blinkx.tv looking for the important business and financial news stories of the day”, Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CTO of blinkx, said in a statement.
Blinkx accommodates multiple file formats that allow for users to view video content on full screen playback mode and upload content through various outlets, which include RSS, ATOM feeds, iTunes and Video iPod among other media players.
President of Dow Jones Online, Gordon McLeod added his own comment on blinkx and the added benefit of Dow Jones’ availability on the Lycos Network. “Partnering with blinkx.tv extends our reach to a new audience, so they can more easily surface and experience the depth of our reporting,” he said. “We see this as an opportunity to continue growing our on-demand video presence across the Web.”
