Yahoo Launches Mobile Graphical Ads
Yahoo will launch the beta version of its graphical advertising platform in the United States later this week for Mobile Web, Yahoo’s browser-based access point to Yahoo services like Search, Mail, News, Finance, and Sports. Graphical ads will appear across the Yahoo Mobile Web, letting users to click on each one to access more information about the advertiser or directly initiate a mobile phone call.
“Yahoo! has established itself as an early leader in mobile advertising and is continuing to help drive the growth of this emerging market,” said Yahoo mobile and broadband SVP Steve Boom in a statement. “As the only company with clear leadership in all forms of Internet advertising and a leading provider of mobile Internet services, we are uniquely able to create and deliver innovative, interactive marketing solutions to a targeted audience of engaged consumers.”
Last month, Yahoo introduced mobile search ads that let advertisers reach users through their mobile devices and Yahoo Mobile Search. Yahoo has been operating a mobile web service since 1999.
