Advertising-by-Scavenger Hunt Emerges

Missing PieceTonight at 7:19PM pacific time, online surfers will begin battling each other in a test of wit and knowledge, visiting sponsored site after sponsored site to win a 30GB Video iPod in the first TenHunt.com scavenger hunt.

Each scavenger hunter gets ten riddles from TenHunt, leading players to ten sponsoring web sites. The first player to solve all ten riddles and visit all ten websites wins.

“We see the value of a TenHunt player as incredibly powerful to an advertiser. Not only will players be visiting an advertiser’s site, they will be scouring its contents to discover the answer contained on the site,” said TenHunt founder Mike Taggart in a statement. “We feel that players who spend more time on a sponsor’s site will be more apt to conduct business with that advertiser at a later date, obviously if the products and services on the site match their interests.”

TenHunt intends to hold at least one scavenger hunt each week. As more players sign up, the company will offer more, bigger and better prizes, with the goal of eventually offering one million dollars worth of prizes in 2007.
