Official Office Live Launch Date Announced

According to Baris Cetinok, Microsoft’s director of product management for Office Live, the online business software package which has been in beta for the past 8 months, will officially launch on November 15th.

Office Live will come in three flavors: the free Office Live Basics, which is free, and Office Live Essentials and Premium, which support different numbers of users. All three versions will contain Microsoft’s AdManager, which lets businesses easily manage their campaigns on Windows Live Search, and Business Contact Manager, which lets users manage their customer contact info.

Microsoft also plans to eventually let users purchase search ads from competitors like Google, Yahoo, and Ask.com through Office Live. The Basics version is ad-supported, whereby advertisers place small banners on member pages, but the ads will not appear on custom branded pages created by the licensee. Ads are also contextual and automated.

Office Live is also integrated with eBay, and allows users to send and accept payments via PayPal. November 15th will also see the release of the Office Live beta in France, Germany, the UK, and Japan.
