AccuWeather Launches Blog-Friendly netWeather 2.0
Online weather service AccuWeather has announced the launch of netWeather2.0, the second version of its weather badge that lets blog and website owners post weather information on their sites for free. The netWeather badge is dynamically updated with the latest weather information.
The netWeather2.0 badge is available in six banner sizes, including a 435×90 size that’s optimized for MySpace, and displays current weather conditions, the five day forecast, and temperature, radar and precipitation maps. It also comes in eight colors and is available in English or Spanish.
“AccuWeather.com is happy to respond to the huge interest in personal web postings with the only free weather sticker that really serves the needs of all kinds of sites,” said Jim Candor, AccuWeather’s SVP of new media in a statement. “We are reaching out to the international blogging and social networking site communities, offering the sizes and easy downloads they need and optimizing our stickers for popular sites like MySpace.com.”
The new badge displays weather for every ZIP code in the U.S. and for locations around the world. AccuWeather is also making the badge available for download through a number of third-party social networking sites.
