Coinciding with Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, RSS advertising company Pheedo is trumpeting its Apple RSS ad-targeting channel. Rather than lumping everything into a single “technology” channel, Pheedo provides a more targeted Apple Channel for Apple-related publishers and advertisers. The Apple Channel is Pheedo’s largest, and includes sites like Apple Insider, Mac Daily News, MacNN, Think Secret, and Mac Observer. Pheedo attributes the quick adoption of RSS by Apple users to Apple’s integration of RSS into its software and services.
“Apple fans want their news as it happens, and RSS lets them view updates from all their favorite Mac publications in real-time,” said Pheedo co-founder Bill Flitter in a statement. “Pheedo’s Apple Channel has grown to become the most popular category in our network due to Mac users widespread adoption of RSS. Much of this adoption is due to RSS integration into Safari, and once RSS becomes integrated into Internet Explorer 7, we should see similar adoption rates from Windows users.”
Pheedo’s RSS management and monetization service is used by more than 8,000 publishers, and ads can be targeted by categories like entertainment, technology, mobile, and small business.
