MySpace Considering Offline Magazine

An AdAge report has stated that MySpace, arguably the fastest-growing Web brand today, is considering developing a print publication. The site has been in talks with Nylon, a music and fashion pub, about creating a magazine to complement the online property. The publication would cover standout MySpace members and their interests, including their music and social scenes.

MySpace is examining various business models, with the most likely approach being that the Nylon staff would publish the magazine. The two companies collaborated in May to bring Nylon’s seventh annual “Music Issue” online with interactive features.

“We’re in the process of modeling it,” said an executive privy to the discussions. “Our main concern is the MySpace brand. We don’t want to do anything that would hurt the brand.”

No plans have been made definite as of yet, and MySpace may choose to forego the project entirely.
