IAB CEO Steps Down, Search Begins for Replacement

The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) has announced that its CEO, Greg Stuart, will be stepping down at the end of this year to “pursue new opportunities.” The IAB board has formed a recruitment committee organized by executive search firm Spencer Stuart to find a new chief exec. CEO Greg Stuart has led the IAB since 2001.

“”Greg has been a tremendous leader of the IAB and has done a fantastic job on behalf of the entire interactive industry,” said IAB board chairman Jim Spanfeller in a statement. “While we are disappointed to see Greg leave, we support him in his decision and wish him great success in his future endeavors. In the meantime, the IAB Board has full confidence in the great team that Greg has assembled at the IAB and the work they do.”

The IAB has made it it’s cause to improve the interactive industry as a whole, and it has been heavily involved in releasing research studies, interactive standards and guidelines that have resulted in online ad revenues increasing 38% this year to $16 billion, according to IAB SVP and GM Sheryl Draizen. The IAB has been operating since 1996, and members sell 86% of the online advertising in the U.S.
