Yahoo, FIFA Deliver World Cup Experience


With the 2006 World Cup only a day away, Yahoo and FIFA have teamed up to deliver their own dynamic soccer experience at The official Web site of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany offers a one-stop, interactive shop for fans of arguably the world’s biggest sporting event.

Yahoo and FIFA offer several reasons for soccer/football fans to visit, including free video highlights, live multilingual match coverage with play-by-play commentary, user forums, mobile alerts and downloads, trivia and even fantasy football.

This marks the latest move in a five-year relationship between Yahoo and FIFA, whereby both bodies are jointly producing, marketing, and commercially operating the official Web site of the FIFA World Cup. Yahoo is also one of 15 Official FIFA Partners worldwide.

During the 2002 World Cup, registered more than two billion page views, making the site one of the most popular sports-event portals ever.
