VNU Goes Live with Internet Broadcasting Service
B2C publisher VNU Business Publications Ltd, the London-based publishing arm of VNU Business Media Europe, today announced the launch of VNU On Air, its new portfolio of Internet-delivered audio and video content.
VNU On Air will incorporate a mix of up-to-date news, product and technology know-how, and high level industry discussion and debate—all aimed at the four million users per month of VNU’s 20 on and offline brands in the UK including The Inquirer, vnunet.com, Computing, IT Week, Accountancy Age, Computeractive and CRN. The programming delivered through these new video and audio packages is targeted at the company’s three core audiences; B2B IT buyers, consumer technology users and financial management professionals.
“VNU On Air represents the first time a European B2B print publisher has launched audio and video services with dedicated in-house studio and theatre facilities to create a total media solution. The move will enable the company to take advantage of innovations such as vod-, pod- and webcasting, and increase the value it provides to both its information subscribers and its advertising partners,” said Ruud Bakker, CEO of VNU Business Media Europe, in a press statement.
VNU On Air is broadcast through four studios and a theatre space suitable for seating up to 100 people and staging events for later events. The studios are fully equipped to deliver live-to-air and streamed content in a variety of packages including vidcasts, podcasts, news broadcasts, seminars, conference reports, and video product reviews. VNU’s On Air content will also be produced in HD quality during launch.
The VNU On Air launch will be supported by an advertising campaign in the trade press and within VNU’s titles.
