Homestead Technologies Beams SearchLight for Small Businesses

SB Informer reports that Homestead Technologies has launched a new platform to deliver advertising to small business websites from over twenty major search engines, including Google, Yahoo, and MSN. The new service, called SearchLight, will be available to Homestead subscribers as well as small business owners who host their sites with other web service providers.

“Small businesses are losing valuable sales because potential customers simply cannot find them online,” said Homestead founder and CEO Justin Kitch. “Their business websites are not visible within search engine results, or they’re buried in the results by the national chains, making them virtually non-existent to qualified and motivated customers.”

As online retail spending is expected to reach $95 billion in 2006, and Internet advertising revenue has reached $3.9 billion in the first quarter, small businesses that do not leverage the power of online advertising run the risk of being excluded from the Internet’s global marketplace. SearchLight is an effort to “level the playing field” with larger, national businesses who reap most of the benefits from internet advertising. The service makes small business websites appear more prominently and frequently within appropriate search results, enabling potential customers to access the products or services more quickly and easily.
