What they do: Flavorpill began in October 2000 as a weekly newsletter about music events delivered to a few hundred friends and has since developed into a series of nine email magazines that include Flavorpill NY, LA, San Francisco, London, and Chicago, as well as Artkrush, Boldtype, Earplug, and JC Report. A tenth magazine, Activate, will be launched shortly.
Flavorpill and its various emails deliver quality, accessible information about events, art, books, music, and fashion, in each of the five Flavorpill cities. The recommendations include diverse and under-the-radar activities and profess to be strictly unbiased. This growing group of active readers consults each issue more than two times every week. The site, which was relaunched with a new design in March 2006, has searchable, syndicated RSS feeds for all five cities.
