Mobile phone provider Alltel has teamed up with broadband entertainment company Atom Entertainment for a new user-created mobile video campaign to promote its new “My Circle” calling feature. As part of the “Are you Circle Worthy” campaign, users submit original short video clips, recorded on their mobile phones, starring friends, family, and anyone else who would be a part of their “Circle”.
The top 10 video creators will receive $1000 each and have their clips featured on AtomFilms.com, Atom’s movie and independent film site. Alltel’s “My Circle” plan allows customers to make and receive free unlimited phone calls from selected phone numbers, regardless of the time of day, or the other person’s carrier.
“We’re pleased to be working with Alltel to give mobile consumers an opportunity to show their entertaining mobile videos to millions of viewers on AtomFilms.com,” said AtomFilms VP Scott Roesch in a statement. “This is our first contest for video shot on mobile phones, and we are excited to see the innovative and creative content that is submitted.”
Submissions are accepted through July 10th, with the top 10 finalists determined according to interpretation of the “Are You Circle Worthy” theme, artistic merit and technical execution. During the month of August, visitors to AtomFilms.com will vote for their favorite video. The creator of which will win the grand prize of $5000 in September.
