Market communication and Internet technologies firm Think Partnership announced yesterday that it opened its office in Hong Kong. The office is the company’s first in Asia and will serve as a portal to new business throughout the Asia-Pacific region, including China, Japan and Australia for Think Partnership’s entire suite of interactive advertising companies and services. The company will also continue to expand its U.S.-based MarketSmart Interactive and U.K.-based Web Diversity operations.
The company’s expansion into Asia reflects the continent’s Internet boom. Jim Banks, who will serve as president of operations for the new MarketSmart Interactive Asia-Pacific office, said in a statement, “In Asia, digital marketing and online advertising have yet to see the level of penetration found in the U.S. and Europe. However, we anticipate it will grow rapidly here as advertisers become more knowledgeable and embrace digital marketing as they have elsewhere. Currently, only eight percent of the population in the People’s Republic of China has access to the Internet. But this is changing, and over the next three-to-five years we will see an explosion of activity in this market, as well as others.”
Banks and his Hong Kong team will be working with search marketing expert Mike Grehan of THK’s UK-based Smart Interactive operation to expand Think Partnership’s search marketing sales in both Europe and Asia. Banks is also a recognized leader in search marketing in Europe and is widely regarded as one of the leading authorities on the subject of Click Fraud worldwide.
