Kozoru Launches Build-Your-Own Byoms
Kozoru, Inc., a question and answer search system, announced plans today to launch byoms (build your own mobile search), the first customizable, instant messaging search technology.
The Overland Park, KS-based company, which plans to launch byoms on June 5th, will then allow users to create a personalized search feed from only certain sites, then query and find targeted responses to their questions through a chat interface (desktop AIM client or AIM-enabled mobile phone). The company also promises to soon allow users to create feeds for their Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk, MSN Messenger, and Jabber clients.
“We feel that the chat interface has been overlooked in the search landscape and represents a valuable new way to deliver highly targeted information to users when they need it most,” said kozoru founder John S. Flowers in a statement. “After nearly two years of research and discovery into what people are really looking for in a search technology, we’re excited to finally be sharing byoms with the rest of the world.”
Byoms utilizes kozoru’s patent pending Natural Language Response algorithm to enhance relevance so users receive full-sentence responses to their queries and narrow down thousands of queries. The service also allows users to share their feeds with friends, readers or subscribers by adding a byoms button to their sites.
