Google Software to be Offered on Dell PCs
Google yesterday announced it has inked a deal with Dell to install Google software on new Dell computers. The agreement is similar to a deal Dell currently has with Microsoft and puts into question how this will affect Microsoft’s position with the company.
Financial terms and a timeline for the deal were not disclosed, but the company will share revenue from the linking.Google’s new toolbar will be placed on the Dell desktops.Dell computer users will also be directed to a web page branded by Google and Dell.The software will be placed on machines sold to consumers as well as to small and medium sized business.
Neither company could be reached for comment.
