After over three years of development, Buy.com has launched its interactive broadband shopping program, BuyTV. Beginning this week, thirty-minute episodes featuring the latest entertainment and technology products will be available weekly as a stream on Buy.com and as a download from Instant Media (www.IM.com ).
BuyTV will act as a guide to the site’s wide surplus of consumer goods. Hosts Drew and Melissa will take viewers through product reviews, interviews, top ten listings of books, movies, and games, and will point out discounts made available exclusively through the show.
“BuyTV has one very simple goal—to help our customers make better buying decisions,” Scott Blum, Chairman and CEO of Buy.com said in a press statement. “We believe that we can accomplish that through our interviews with leading experts and product demonstrations from some of the world’s top manufacturers and brands.”
The technology of Instant Media has allowed BuyTV to become the first broadband show filmed entirely in high-definition. In addition to downloading current and archived shows from www.IM.com, users may have BuyTV auto-delivered to their desktop on a weekly basis.
The premiere episode of BuyTV will feature products from FedEx, Nissan, Sony PlayStation, AIG, Focus Films, and Neutrogena.
