Hitwise Steps Up Lifestyle Reporting

Hitwise Rankings, the popular site ranking and demographic charting product originally launched in Q1 2004, has been updated with an enhanced lifestyle reporting tool. The tool allows site owners and media buyers to drill down into the demographic and psychographic data of their site and competitors’ sites, and view the change in this data over time.

The secret to the lifestyle reporting tool, itself a module within the Hitwise Rankings product, is Claritas’ PRIZM NE, a product which takes U.S. Census data and other demographic qualifiers and utilizes them for marketers. Optimization player Poindexter Systems and sites such as USAToday also implement PRIZM NE to give their advertisers access to specific segments.

The Hitwise module takes data on geo-distribution, lifestyle, as well as offline media behaviors, and classifies it into 14 demographic categories.

The new Hitwise Rankings offering also features deeper search intelligence, clickstream, data, industry statistics, alerts, custom reports, and weekly uploads of data.
