Coremetrics Acquires IBM SurfAid Analytics
Web analytics leader Coremetrics today announced their acquisition of IBM SurfAid Analytics, a premier on demand analytics service based in Dallas, TX. Launched by IBM Global Services in 1998, SurfAid supplies Coremetrics with powerful ad hoc report building capabilities, segment analysis, business language reporting paradigm, a flexibility to meet unique customer needs, pervasive application use, and a customer base which spans many industries.
“We are merging two of the web analytics industry’s most successful and tenured organizations,” said John Payne, executive and co-founder of SurfAid Analytics. “Together, we will remain focused on delivering market-leading solutions and functions which will continue to set the standard for the industry.”
SurfAid’s clients include ACS Publications, AMD, Cirque du Soleil, IBM, Moody’s KMV, Toyota Motor Sales, Union Bank of California, Verizon Super Pages, and MPS Technologies.
As a part of this merge, Coremetrics and IBM will work together to create a best-of-breed, cross-channel business analytics solution for use specifically with IBM’s Websphere Commerce software. The businesses hope their partnership will create new ways for their customers to transform data insights into commerce action in all WebSphere Commerce-driven channels, including the web, partner sites, in-store kiosks, contact centers, gift registries, hand held devices and more.
