AccuStream, Pointroll Publish Video Ad Reference Guide


Rich media technology provider Pointroll and streaming media research company AccuStream iMedia Research have partnered to release “The Streaming Video Advertising Reference Guide: Understanding and Optimizing Online Video.” Pointroll handled more than 5 billion streaming video ads last year, and wants to reinforce its position as a streaming ad industry innovator while providing agencies and advertisers with appropriate video ad guidelines.

“By teaming with AccuStream and formalizing our deep network of strategic partnerships, we hope to leverage our leadership role in interactive video to the benefit of the industry while proving how interactive ads are finally beginning to fulfill the promise of online advertising that only until recently has been long on promise and short on delivery,” said Pointroll’s CEO Chris Saridakis in a statement.

In addition to standardization, the guide also includes how-tos on optimizing an online video campaign via vertical market and media channels, best practices (including ad placement and metrics), technical details such as bandwidth limitations, and variable connection speeds, and how to maintain a viewer’s interest & integrate synchronized banners. The guide also includes the prediction that streaming video ad spending will grow by 40% in 2006.
