THQ Taps Double Fusion for In-Game Ads

In-game advertising company Double Fusion has signed an agreement with game publisher THQ to pitch advertising in three undisclosed upcoming game titles to agencies and potential advertisers. “By providing marketers access to a wide range of opportunities in THQ’s titles, from billboards to deep storyline integrations, we’re able to offer a significant value proposition to our partners,” said Double Fusion chairman Elie Wurtman in a statement.

The games in question include original next-generation titles, and licensed ones scheduled for release this Fall. THQ hopes the deal will open up an alternative source of revenue, and believes that Double Fusion and their in-game ad measurement technology will be able to represent their upcoming games appropriately to advertisers.

THQ publishes games for multiple game systems, PC’s, and mobile devices. Their recent titles include humerous scifi game Destroy All Humans!, street racing game Juiced, and modern squad-based combat game Full Spectrum Warrior. Double Fusion specializes in 3D and rich media ad insertion, metrics, and campaign management for in-game ad campaigns. They also currently represent game publisher Midway Games.
