Pricefish Introduces Shopper-Friendly RSS Feeds
Today, Pricefish.com has announced the capability to publish product listings via an RSS feed, giving online shoppers another handy tool to keep track of the latest prices on their shopping wishlists. The new free feature enables a shopper to select product listings from Pricefish.com that they wish to have regularly updated and delivered via an RSS reader or RSS-equipped browser.
While it’s not necessarily the newest of technologies, RSS could still be a novel concept to the average shopper Pricefish President Mark Dresner says in a press statement, “RSS feeds can make it simple for shoppers to keep a close watch on products that they are considering to buy. We believe that timely access to product price changes is a useful tool for shoppers and have, in the past, provided these notifications by email. However, in these days of overflowing email inboxes we felt that our shoppers would appreciate an alternate option to email notifications. RSS is just another example of our goal to really engage shoppers and make the overall shopping experience simpler and more satisfying,”
Pricefish.com’s offering allows a shopper to monitor as many RSS-enabled product listings as they wish. Each product is treated as a unique channel within their RSS reader and displays all of the merchants selling a particular product along with their corresponding prices. When a shopper finds a merchant/price combination that they like they can make the purchase by just clicking from within their RSS reader to go to the merchant website.
