Heavy.com Inaugurates Digital Ad Upfronts

Heavy.com, one of the top digital entertainment providers for males ages 18-34, is currently previewing its spring 2006 slate of original programming for select audiences of agencies in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Detroit. The shows of “Must Stream TV” will cater to audiences and advertisers who prize the site’s unique combination of viral video, masculinity, and pervading sense of what the New York Times has called “knowing commercialism.”

“Advertisers are clamoring for original content that young people can watch on broadband and on mobile devices,” said David Carson, Co-CEO of Heavy.com in a press statement. “We’ve produced a blockbuster season of new programming—humorous, outrageous shows that TV can’t do. And we’re delivering it in the formats that young people demand.”

Among the upcoming original programs are The Massive Mating Game, Behind the Music That Sucks, The Manly-Man Games, American Suck Countdown, Machinima, and Heavy News. The shows will be available on the site via broadband, and can be downloaded to some portable devices such as iPod and PSP.
