Diffiniti Wins Aviva Digital Account

Across the Atlantic, it was announced today that after a final battle with Harvest Digital, Aegis-owned firm Diffiniti has won the account of Aviva Digital, valued at approximately $45.2 million in US currency.

The movement of the Aviva account follows a pitch that also involved Starcom Digital, OMD Digital, All Response Media, Unique Digital and Profero. This list was whittled down to four before Starcom Digital and Unique Digital were eliminated.

According to Mediaweek UK, Diffiniti will begin working on the account from April 1st after a transitional period, and the contract will run for two years subject to review. Aviva said the decision to appoint Diffiniti was taken to consolidate activity within a single agency, to optimise media efficiencies and to help drive the digital media strategy for both NU and RAC.

Last December, Aviva awarded its $130 million above-the-line media planning and buying account to OMD. Aviva is currently the world’s sixth largest worldwide insurance firm and has 60,000 employees serving 30 million customers globally. Diffiniti was created as a standalone digital agency after it was separated from Carat Interactive in September 2004. The agency offers specialist support to sister agency Vizeum, while also building its own portfolio of clients. It is part of the Aegis digital network Isobar.
