China Sees Spike in Online Advertising

Chinese based company Analysys released a study today showing that China’s online advertising market reached RMB 939 million ($100 USD = about 800 RMB) in the fourth quarter of 2005. The study also predicts that the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of China’s online advertising market will increase to over 30% in the next three years.

The report further illustrated that online ads reached RMB 646 million, keyword advertising increased to RMB 218 million, PR advertising reached RMB 76 million, and email advertising increased to RMB 5 million.

Rao Zhan, an analyst from Analysys International said in today’s release, ”As China’s Internet environment matures, the Internet industry will play an important role in business affairs. Online advertising will play an important role in the Internet market and keep fast growing speed.”

Sina, Sohu, Yahoo! China, Netease and Tom Online are China’s top 5 online advertising vendors.
