Yahoo will show segments from CBS’ “60 Minutes” beginning with the 2006/2007 broadcast season when the legendary TV news magazine will begin its 39th season on the air. Yahoo and CBS will split the Internet advertising revenue in CBS’ hope to attract a wider, younger audience for its news programs.
Following the weekly Sunday night TV show, viewers can go to the dedicated Yahoo site that will showcase archived materials, blogs, and unaired TV footage. The site will also highlight upcoming “60 Minute” broadcasts and special segments created specifically for the Yahoo site.
Automaker Buick has already purchased all of the web advertising for a preview service that will be available at the end of March, which will include an interview with golfing sensation Tiger Woods.
