24/7 Real Media Introduces Vendor Certification

24/7 Real Media announced today the release of its Real Media Vendor Certification Program, an opportunity for rich media vendors and advertisers to increase their revenue-generating potential. The program will act as a central quality control guideline for rich media delivery, and is intended to decrease labor costs, time to market, and performance reporting discrepancies.

Each participating vendor will undergo a four-step process in order to receive certification. First, they will have their rich media code-checked for errors by the 24/7 Real Media Engineering Group. Next, their ad will be run in a test lab that simulates live web conditions and ensures that delivery times fall within acceptable latency thresholds. Then, the ad will begin its live monitored campaign when it is placed on the 24/7 Web Alliance Network of over 800 sites. Finally, the reporting is checked for errors and discrepancies.

“Ad counting discrepancies and technical glitches surrounding rich media ads have resulted in a great deal of friction and a tremendous amount of lost revenue for vendors, advertisers, and publishers” said Tom Swenson, product manager for 24/7 Real Media’s Rich Media Vendor Certification Program in a statement. “24/7 Real Media’s Rich Media Vendor Certification program will reassure all parties that the rich media creative will run smoothly across our network, and that performance metrics will be accurate.”
