Shopzilla Utilizes Vendio Toolbar
Vendio Services has announced that Dealio, a free comparison shopping toolbar, will partner with the E.W. Scripps Company’s online shopping subsidiary Shopzilla, a comparison shopping search engine. Consumers can now use the Dealio toolbar to scour items on eBay and over 100,000 other merchants including Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and CompUSA, according to the company’s website. The toolbar now covers virtually all product categories sold online including electronics, computers, music, jewelry, toys, and apparel as well as home and garden.
John Phelps, president of Shopzilla, said in Vendio’s press release, “We are excited to be partnering with Vendio, which, like Shopzilla, is focused on developing an outstanding shopping experience for consumers. Vendio selected Shopzilla due to its industry-leading shopping search engine, and its depth and breadth of product retailer coverage.”
Users can use the Dealio Toolbar in two different ways to search for bargains. Users can either enter key words into the Dealio search window located in the browser navigation bar without leaving the site they are currently visiting or highlight any word or phrase on a web page, right click, and select “Compare Prices with Dealio” from the context menu. This time-saving “Select and Compare” feature will then allow Dealio to automatically search for and present the best prices on products that relate to the highlighted text from the Internet’s leading merchants and eBay.
