Scripps Sits Atop Nielsen’s H&G Pedestal
Scripps Network Interactive Web, which encompasses such well-known sites as HGTV.com, FoodNetwork.com, and DIYnetwork.com, clocked in with 16.8 million unique visitors in the month of January across the network. After receiving a 9.3 million visitor windfall and more than a million online sweepstakes entries from HGTV.com’s HGTV Dream Home Givaway contest, Nielsen/NetRatings ranked HGTV.com the #1 Home and Garden site on the web by page views for the month of January.
“While HGTV.com and the HGTV Dream Home Giveaway continue to perform for us, we are also seeing significant increases in audiences for Scripps Networks newer Interactive properties. The year-old HGTVPro.com reached a record audience of more than 800,000 unique visitors; and our newly launched broadband channel, HGTV KitchenDesign, delivered more than 550,000 unique visitors its first month out, according to Nielsen/NetRatings,” said Scripps Network Interactive senior VP Ron Feinbaum in a statement.
Visitors to the HGTV broadband channel composed 6% of all HGTV.com traffic for January, and Scripps says they will continue to develop their broadband and video-on-demand services.
