Pheedo Teams Up with PRWeb for RSS Ads
In order to provide ad content that is more specific to RSS feeds, blog/RSS advertising provider Pheedo, along with newswire service PRWeb, will be putting press release headlines and abstracts in Pheedo RSS ads. According to Pheedo, ads in RSS feeds perform better than website online ads, yielding a 7 times greater CTR.
News items will appear contextually, based on the raw content of a feed. The PRWeb content will be available in all Pheedo ad categories. Clicking on a press release link will take the customer directly to the release on PRWeb. “We… recognized PRWeb’s model of distributing press releases on behalf of their clients. You pay for placement or pay for placement for your PR release to get read, and we… brainstormed on this idea that ‘why can’t you distribute the content via RSS… why can’t we add updates and PR releases to information and drive traffic to those press releases’,” says Pheedo co-founder Bill Flitter.
The new ad format is live as we speak, and PRWeb press release links will appear on both RSS feed ads and normal Pheedo website ads.
