Heavy.com Offers First Look at Banned Super Bowl Ads

Broadband video network Heavy.com announced Tuesday the first ever “Super-Banned Bowl”, in which rejected ads for the sporting mega-event will finally get airtime via the broadband channel.

Among the ads appearing are last year’s infamous GoDaddy.com spots, only this time in director’s cut form. Also included in the “Madison Ave. mash up” are commercials for the OTC drug Airborne featuring Mickey Rooney and his derriere, as well as two PETA spots for its own NHL (National Heavy League) including “Milk Gone Wild” and “Sausage,” which both promote a veggie lifestyle.

Regarding the impetus of this project, Heavy.com CO-CEO/Co-Founder David Carson says in a statement, ” The Super-Banned Bowl is for those companies and organizations who were denied their inalienable right to spend millions of dollars for 30 seconds of glory during the Super Bowl.”

Visitors can vote as often as they’d like for their favorite banned commercial, which are all part of Heavy’s previously announced “Must-Stream TV” lineup. The site currently receives 10 million monthly unique visitors according to Nielsen stats, as well as a viral reach of “65 million taste-challenged pop-culture junkies.”
