Clickonomics Offers Contextual Ad Profit Calculator
SEM resource site Clickonomics.net has announced the launch of an online calculator that will let advertisers and publishers calculate profits for their Google AdSense and Google AdWords campaigns. “The ad calculators model profitability,” said Clickonomics founder Dave Goodwin in a statement, adding, “the basic information included with a Google account is limited to statistical information. It’s common for companies new to contextual advertising to run ads that are effective at getting clicks but might not convert to sales often enough to make the ads profitable. Small business advertisers are sometimes shocked at how quickly 50-cent clicks can consume an advertising budget.”
Publishers can get an idea of how much AdSense ads on their site will bring in, while AdWords advertisers will be able to calculate how much running a campaign on AdSense will cost beforehand by estimating the expected impressions and click-through rate. The calculator also takes into account a number of other variables including cost-per-click and website conversion rate. The calculator’s simplicity is designed to encourage revenue experimentation without the need to run an actual campaign.
Clickonomics also provides AdSense and AdWords tutorials, as well as a monthly newsletter.
