Web measurement company BuzzMetrics has finalized its buyout of Intelliseek. As ADOTAS first reported last month, the two companies have formed a company called Nielsen BuzzMetrics, with VNU, owners of Nielsen Media Research and AC Nielsen, as majority shareholders.
The new BuzzMetrics will measure consumer-generated online content including blogs and forums. “With more than 100 major client brands, more than 100 employees and four major offices, the Nielsen BuzzMetrics service is setting a new standard to help marketers strategically leverage the buzz surrounding their brands,” said BuzzMetrics chairman Itzhak Fisher in a statement.
Nielsen BuzzMetrics will focus on search and text analytics, and combine the clients and technology of Intelliseek with the linguistic and client service technology of BuzzMetrics. In addition to the appointment of new company executives, Nielsen BuzzMetrics also expands its scope geographically with offices in New York, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Israel. Nielsen BuzzMetrics clients include HBO, GM, Ford, Microsoft, Nokia, and Sony.
