Amp’d Mobile, a 3G mobile entertainment company, has announced a partnership with EA Games to bring several EA sports and puzzle games to their mobile platform. Amp’d subscribers will be able to access a specially branded EA gaming channel and play popular EA titles like NBA Live 06, Madden NFL 06, Need For Speed Underground 2, The Sims 2 and several 2D games from EA’s Club Pogo (their casual gaming network which has more than 1 million subscribers— most of them women).
The EA gaming channel will also feature video previews of upcoming games, user ratings, wallpapers, EA-related ringtones and more. Amp’d, which targets youth and young adults, also garners video, audio and gaming content from partnerships with companies like ESPN, FOX, MTV, CBS, UPN and the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Eventually, EA and Amp’d plan to serve up more than 15 games through their new partnership.
“We see Amp’d Mobile’s channel-based approach and spotlight on the youth market as a great fit for our titles,” EA’s VP of Marketing, Lesley Mansford, said in a statement. “With the dedicated EA channel, they are making it easy for gamers to find their favorite games and jump right in.”
